Hi,
I'm having issues with a user stalking me on an IRC server. They have been k-lined but keep coming back. Now nothing is being done about the issue (I dont know!)
I've used mode +i and they are on akick from the channels I visit. However they now get others to visit the channel to check if I'm around. I am currently 4 months into a 12 month contract with my ISP so changing really isn't an option yet.
I've read that using a proxy or bnc (Not sure if thats the correct term!) can mask your ip. I've tried using public proxies but they all seem to be blocked from the server.
Can anyone tell me if there is a service which is not blocked (I will pay if I have too) or give me more information on a bnc and a good provider of them.
Thanks |

If the person stalking you is an IRCop, you don't have a chance of hiding. Even if you get a bnc or something, I have a feeling you will be re-found.
If they can avoid klines, they will just keep coming back, and if people are willing to spy and find you, I don't think a new identity is going to help you, once one of them finds out, you'll be back to where you started.
You'll probably just have to keep ignoring the person, and if it gets serious, get outside authorities involved to get any action taken. |

Sorry, the person harassing me isn't a IRCop
I got them involved and they banned the person (They are on dial up so new address line!)
The server made a change from domain masks to IP. That seemed to keep her away for a while. If I can hide that much and while she is banned from the room I doubt she will get me again.
If I change my name and have a new IP range I doubt she'd know it was me. |

1. Change your nickname, change your ident, get a vhost (from your network, assuming they support it), and you could get rid of them.
2. Call the police if it is that serious. |

Hey, sorry been gone a while.
The admins wont set anything up like that. To be honest they are pretty much washing there hands of it now. The person keeps avoiding the k-line. I've contacted her isp with no reply. We live on seperate continents. |

| I personally would switch networks because the staff don't care about their users, i wouldn't stay. |
