Is it possible to link ConferenceRoom 1.8.9 with Bahamut?
Anyone tried? |

lots of people believe CR was made from bahamut.. this is not so..
CR was designed on its own... bahamut actually copied CR, not the other way around
CR used to be a windows ircd... they ported it to unix..
also, on previous versions of bahamut there was no /sajoin..
on CR, /sajoin is for services admins to force themselves into a channel regardless of a ban, +i mode, +k or +l..
it goes: /sajoin channel
on unreal its /sajoin nick channel to force another user in a room and its NOT the same..
on bahamut new release version 1.4.36 they added /sajoin command, they copied conferenceroom
many people have facts totally wrong.. the truth is CR was coded separately.. and bahamut copied some features from CR |

on conferenceroom services are built into it
lol
all you do to start services on CR is
/servstart
or
/as util services start |

I'm aware of that. The problem is that I'm stuck with CR because of some java-features and politics and I really want to use some services which doesn't work with CR.
I never thought linking was possible, CR doesn't follow protocol at all so..
I guess I have to modify the services I'd like to use for CR then. |

I dont think using other services on CR is possible... however you could try it
set CR services to the same settings as your alternate services, then /sa services enable, just so the uline will be set for that server name
shut down CR services but dont disable them, then start up your alternate ones
like I said, Im not sure if that will work but try and see
also.. you dont need services, you can use server bots and assign passwords to each channel on the bots.. but you'd have no nickname registration, so opers would have to qline their own nicks |

I think it is. I've modified Neostats a bit so it authenticates nicely and stuff and that part works but then it segfaults on some other stuff i haven't had the time to look at.
We'll see, I'll get back to you in this matter. =)
Try do add ConferenceRoom-support for Neostats and support a patch or something, might be some other people out there looking for it. |

you can also try coding functions into CR... since it supports the ability to add on more modules..
currently Im looking for something to add on CR so it will have IP address in connect notices so BOPM will work on CR properly..
in the BOPM FAQ, it shows the connregex for CR, however you must read this:
you can either turn DNS off (/as general set dns off) so all hostnames are IP only
-or-
have BOPM ignore all hostnames that have letters in them like this:
exempt {
mask = "*!*@*a*";
mask = "*!*@*b*";
mask = "*!*@*c*";
mask = "*!*@*d*";
mask = "*!*@*e*";
mask = "*!*@*f*";
mask = "*!*@*g*";
mask = "*!*@*h*";
mask = "*!*@*i*";
mask = "*!*@*j*";
mask = "*!*@*k*";
mask = "*!*@*l*";
mask = "*!*@*m*";
mask = "*!*@*n*";
mask = "*!*@*o*";
mask = "*!*@*p*";
mask = "*!*@*q*";
mask = "*!*@*r*";
mask = "*!*@*s*";
mask = "*!*@*t*";
mask = "*!*@*u*";
mask = "*!*@*v*";
mask = "*!*@*w*";
mask = "*!*@*x*";
mask = "*!*@*y*";
mask = "*!*@*z*";
};
If you do not turn DNS off and not add these to except scan, bopm will segfault every time a user connects with hostname..
it still works, since most proxies dont have a hostname, just IP.. so hostnames have to be manually scanned.. just gives opers something to do to keep them from getting bored |

I've already modified BOPM to do a lookup on hosts. So BOPM isn't a problem, even with dns on.
It's not that good for performance but I only jave like 1.60 connects/minute or something so my BOPM can easily take care of it. |

| Do anyone know if there's a spec of CRs fucked up protocol somewhere? I could use it trying to port NeoStats to it. |

They haven't a option for change for move process id, it's close and compile, they move the process id. I evaluate de options of the preview 2.2 over linux, are binaries, u can't think in new options or services there.
If they don't pay u.
and think in the big companies like Apple and IBM that are more near of the opernsouce all the days.
%% <- with what want link
Only a stickybit flag for share in a /tmp folder ...

Bahamut is not CR based it's Hybrid based (read the changes_1.4 file). I highly doubt that Webmaster would release the sourcecode so it can then be released under the GPL license.

CR is released for both win32 and *nix. There is a difference between software that is developed for multiple platforms and a "port".

CR has also "copied features" from other IRCd's. In fact there was a point in time that DreamForge(DALnet's old IRCd) commands and CR commands were nearly identical. Secondly, you should insure that you have all YOUR facts right before saying that others are wrong. |
