|
|
Chattingaway is seeking an experienced Global Operator to help new users and deal with any issues in our help channel. We have been established since 2003 and average around 600+ chatters daily.
All applicants must have at least 3 years experience operating/administrating and have extensive knowledge on Unreal/Anope. In addition to knowledge, we are seeking someone with a fair amount of time commitment.
If you believe you are this person, please stop by irc.chattingaway.com and join #Help. You may private message me (Ryan). This is a great opportunity to gain experience. Thank you! |

Hey, I don't mean to interfere but wouldn't it be best to ask one of your networks regular chatters if they would like to apply for the position, that way it shows you are interested and you pay attention to your users... Just a thought anyhow.
I will come along and chill in the help channel, I don't want to apply for the position but I will still happilly help. |

| Sometimes you need an outside opinion. It's always good to bring someone new in and shake it up a bit. |

| Perhaps Invisible but I think adding a new oper that nobody knows anything about is risky, maybe if they gave a trial to the candidate or just got them to help in channels or w/e for a week or two so they can try to get to know them. |

| Why you knocking them before you know, I'm sure they have a selection process to help them decide. Give them a fair chance to run their network how they want to, that's what makes each network unique. |

| Sorry if I sound like i'm being a knowitall douche. I'm not knocking them, I am just trying to give Ryan a little heads up to be very very careful, I think choosing who to give an oline to is a very difficult decision I am just saying becareful to choose the right guy/gal lol... I have actually already spoken to Ryan about this and he feels he is in a position were he knows who to trust & choose to give an oline too. |

| general rule of thumb around here is don't hire from around here - you'll likely end up with some immature twat you don't need giving you a headache |

I found that the really good IRCops are either too busy helping with their own networks, or has some reason not to be and IRCop again (for now atleast).
I personally avoid request because it normally means extra work for me as a whole so I tend to shy away from request like this.
Those that are left and actually respond are probably not the cream of the crop. So I concur with PingBad, it's probably not worth hiring from here. |
