There seems to be alot of new forum members popping up that says they are 'old opers with xx years experience'.
Some may consider this a kind of ops begging, so maybe you should tell us which networks you've worked on and with the past couple of years, which IRCd's you have experience with, which services you've used and put up and get people on the staff of those network to vouch for you. Otherwise, nobody can be sure about your experience or creditability.
Don't take me wrong, I'm not saying that you are lying or anything like that. I'm just saying that you do get people out there that would lie to get positions of power like this and that you should do everything in your power to prove that your not even remotely like them.
PS. I have met people with Unix/Linux Degrees and Certificates (which I've seen physically) that are at best below average at IRC Network management. It does give you an edge when it comes to the learning curve, but some fall short because they don't take the time to learn their IRC software (same goes for MSCE people - anybody can learn it if you took the time) |

Some of the networks i worked for no longer exist, so i tried to run a few networks myself and just really had no time to do all the work. its hard to start a new network hench why im offering my services . I have worked with unreal 3.1.8 to the latest, UltimateIRCD, efnet ircd, uircd, bahamut, Inspircd, the list goes on for ircds. For services it ranges from anope, to srvx then to epona, and so on lol |

I own UKMadZone.co.uk and we could maybe offer something to you. Come over and speak to me(Mutley) when you get a chance.
Cheers |

My apologies for the late post. I was just reading this and was wondering.... If you get so bored enough to constantly want to give up on a specific ircd and/or service and try a new one, then what will stop you from getting bored of a network you become oper on and make you decide to try a new one?
Opering for a network is no joke, and certainly not something to just get for a few weeks and move on. While I agree that some do take the position far too seriously, it still should be given dedication and effort as if it were a job. Otherwise, move along and let someone who would give their heart and soul to the position. |
