I really don't think it's a matter of redoing anything. I just think you need more help :/
I mentioned some rather honorable names. I'm not sure how much my opinion is worth to you, but they seem honest enough to me. |

Perhaps redoing the system will allow for the aforementioned idea of giving people certain permissions while not allowing others to have the same?
I agree though...more help would be a good thing :/ |

I'll second all of those, and katsklaw if he is interested. |

Won't someone think of the children?!
I'm thinking about having the review system in public - post the network, post the stats we find, and let people vote if it should be approved, denied, and why.
Then we can rubber stamp anyone that is unanimous. Anything with disputed results can manually be looked at |

However, I can see a potential problem (primarily lying in Conflicts of Interest) - what's to say that an admin up to devious ends won't use a series of bots/proxies/bouncers to register a stack of accounts and systematically vote for their own network (with reports of admins going so far as to spam, DDoS, attack, flood and de-stabilise other networks in the name of promoting theirs, I wouldn't put it past them...) |

| Honestly, if I were a new network and had to wait for the community to vote on whether my network would be allowed to be indexed I wouldn't bother. There are plenty of people out there who would say no just so there would be one less network on here to compete with. |

My suggestion means that no one group has complete control.
For example, if you were a bad network trying to push something through, other eyes would look at it, so it doesn't help you to fake 1000 votes for it, when there is one vote against it. The one against means I'd have to review it.
If someone was trying to get a network rejected, they could flag it, but all that would mean is I look at it, and I will note there is nothing wrong with it. If that kept up, I might prevent the user from flagging networks since they clearly don't understand it's purpose. |

| I like that idea. Maybe if it has 100% yes votes in 24 hrs from at least... 20 unique people?, it's automatically approved, if it has 1 no vote in 24 hrs, it's flagged for review |

| I'd like the request to be open for a week, so nothing is rushed through without eyes on it. |

While we are on this subject, just out of curiosity, How long does it take for a network's information to be updated on their SIRC page? I submitted some changes a couple days to a week ago...
No rush, just wonderin.... |

I for one would formally like to offer my services towards a role that assists SearchIRC and users of SearchIRC to get networks approved faster. i think this also flows over onto network page information updates of which i am waiting for now for nearly 3 weeks. Outside of this i think that you guys are offering an awesome service here and keep up the good work.
