| Its just a number. It can go up, or down. There is no reason for a trout slap, but default mirc comes with one (default from mirc dot com). |

Its okay not to be indexed, I appreciate what SearchIRC does, and I respect the rules here. We dont need to be indexed, and its allright not to be.
We wont be removing the bots, because its an ongoing project as I said, were actually working on them still and tweaking, adding more realistic features, and stuff like that. Who knows, maybe someday down the road, every kid who wants a net, will have our program, and be able to fill his net with as many users as he wants
Some might think thats bad, but hey, people pay outrageous fees for shells to host an IRCD so they and 4 other people can chat on thier own network and feel powerful. Why do they run networks when a channel on dalnet, or undernet or any other place would suffice? Who knows, but since they have the resource, might aswell use it right?
We mean no harm, were just opening doors of possibility. How many people do you think, would love to download a file... they pop in thier shell running thier ircd, start a program, edit a config, and whammo... 40 thousand users on their network... and they all chat, make channels, set topics, all on thier own.... I bet theres a lot out there that would totally dig somthing like that.
And, it breaks no laws, they arnt populating using hijacked hosts, so they cant get in trouble for it.

GlitchHackexe just a little note...
Your bots and your project ruins the whole point of chatting and IRC...
IRC is meant to get a group of ppl and talk about a spefic subject but not getting 40k bots and let em talk to each other....(makes em sound real)
As far as I know that SearchIRC and probaly other search engines won't accept any networks with 40k bots who pretend to be real people...
/me eats up...

anywho back on topic, cheating your way up the rankings is just low, lower than ramming a kneecap into someone's "biological pride and joy" and yes, I do reckon there should be a forum for people to publicise and shame out networks who use bots and other nefarious means to raise their usercounts (naughty naughty netowners ).
Just my 2 cents |
Yeah I can't agree more with you PingBad...

They bragged about it too |
starting a nice project that uses only 1 BG to run 40k talking bots is annoying and bragging about it is even worse... |

| Funniest thing about all of this,... If we 'HackExe' can come up with something like this, bout cloning an entire network. I wonder what the real status is on large networks like Efnet, Undernet, Rizon, DALnet, Criten, must I go on? Are all these networks legit too? Cause I join a channel on EFnet and about 95% of the time I am there, users hardly talk anyways. Eh?? |

It really does not matter what IRC is about.
We can argue this forever, it does not matter. We are not listed here, and we *dont care* about it. Read: We do not want to be listed on searchirc, because we are currently running bots. Savvy?
Trying to convince us not to run them because we wont be listed is not going to help your case, its like trying to sell a refridgerator to an eskimo, understand?
We dont want it, so we dont care about not having it. We will continue our project because there are people who want to do what we have done, and we will make it easy for them.
As for bragging about it, hell yeah, we will brag about it.
Why do you contest against us? Its no matter of yours. If you disagree with what we are dooing, then thats all well and good. You are not beeing forced to take part in it, and if it upsets you that other people are interested in it, and other people really want to see the progress of the software and want to have it, well, thats called jealousy. Perhaps you might want to create somthing that people want, and you can be happy. Untill then, deal with your problems in your own way.
Again, we have no intention of beeing listed, and we apologize for the inconvenience caused by us in the past (before we were un-listed) - but now we are not listed, we have no desire to be listed, we could care less about beeing listed, and you have no argument as to weather or not we should be listed.
The bots will remain on our network, because its our network. They are not capable of going to other networks, so - if you run a network, you have nothing to worry about.
I think this is a matter of jealousy, flat out. Grow up, and find real things to complain about |

Friend of mine points out, IRC is not just meant for chatting.
Point in case: mIRC scripting
Have you seen the scripts out there? if IRC was meant for groups of people to chat about stuff, there wouldnt be a need for scripting. Maybe we'd all be on MSN if we just wanted to chat. (Isnt MSN one of the leading causes of death to IRC?) |
