| don't forget, n00bs do it just so they can be an ircop. that's a big factor too. and a vaguely comical one. *remembers many n00bs asking for help with commands and stuff* |

well first we think that when people link to u ur winning users. wrong.
when i first started my network i thought that and few linked to me but i found myself with an average of 1 ircop for 10 users which is ridiculous.
unless if someone have 50 users for 1 ircop dont make him link too many ircops will turn ur network in a jungle |

Yeah, because you got banned from Slacked IRC for being a idiot, stole their HTML, leaving slacked codes, stole half of their users. Might as well be called

Well I am not gonna comment on that its gonna start a *Flame war* or what ever you guys call it
Thats true though just link to a existing IRC network then creating your own...
PS:sometimes linking to a network doesn't work out too well and might creat there own |

Hmm, let me get this through your thick pathetic skull ok?
I didnt get banned from Slacked, for one.
I also didn't steal any websites, because I don't even have a site myself, it was Tweak from stablenode that stole Slacked.org's site, ask shadow.
I didn't steal any users, and how the hell do you steal users? /me hack and force users to connect to subirc?
Thats just pathetic, shadow has most of my users on his network, i don't have his. I'm not saying hes stealing, because people have the right of choice on where they want to be.
Anything else moron? Keep your damn mouth shut until you figure shit out. |

back on topic...
for me in a new network i look for:
-user co-operation - you dont have fights everywhere
-oper competence and co-operation - opers who know what they're doing and do it well
-at least basic services - im the only 'pepolez'...and i want it to stay that way. (yes, you take my registered nick and i will ghost you)
-organized - everybody knows what their task is, theres a set of fairly generic chans defined (eg, help channel, main channel, etc), network policies are defined
-a sense of humor - what fun is irc if you're stuck with robot like irc companions?
-interesting topic - not just exchange of greetings then sitting there idle for hours
-a well designed site - how do i get info if the site uses a navigation system unlike any known to humanity? what if ive been throttled because i went over my download quota and i have to wait for all these stupid images to download (i frequently exceed my quota but dont have the income to upgrade)?
-good connectivity - i dont like to sit there for half an hour while the name is resolving...and then get a connection timeout notice
-some entertainment - a trivia channel or something? something else unique and entertaining
-opers that dont abuse power - for obvious reasons
and thats my $2.78 that i was going to spend on milk.. |
