|
|
I am NOT a computer techie by any means, so please answer in very basic terms.
I would like to change my "Quit message". How do I do that?
Also, I would like to change some of the information which appears when someone runs a "Who Is" query on me as well as add a message there. How do I do that?
Thanks - CaptainR |

I found out how to alter my "Quit message" - done!
Still need to find out how to alter info in my "Who Is". I'm also told that it is possible to add a message or other information hre. If so, how?
thanks - CaptainR |

| ok to change your info in your whois all you can do is get a vhost or add swhois lines... that can be done if you are a services admin. If you are not someone would have to do it for you. It depends on the services / ircd you run though. |

OK - thanks - I understand part of what you are saying, but I don't understand all of the terminology.
However, a friend of mine just added (or maybe changed) a message in their "whois". They are not part of any administrative group. How might they have done that?
thanks, again - CaptainR |

| you can change the 'real name' or 'full name' field. In mirc, this is in the options. |

Can you tell us what kind of /whois information?
the /whois has more than one line ya know
And yeah, if you're not in administrator... then the only thing you can change is your
1) real name
2) ident (the name that will show before your ip)
that's about it |
