My server is running under windows 2k3 (2003) datacentre edition.
It has 1gb memory cache.
But now is my ircd sometimes crashing if he gets over the 45 users.
Sometimes the number of users are smaler like 20.
This error does it gives:
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- select irc.xx.xl[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- select irc.x.x[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- select irc.x.x[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- select irc.x.x[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- select irc.x.x[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.xl- select irc.x.x[*]:No buffer space available
-
[13:31:29] -irc.x.x- *** Notice -- Aieeeee!!! Restarting server too many select errors
what could be the problem or the sollucion?

| Try restarting Windows. It looks like a winsock issue. |

| You need to increase Windows' TCP socket limit. Unfortunately, I do not remember the registry setting to do this offhand. |

Restarting windows is not the option.
But the TCP socket limit, don't know were to find it.. Could you
explane were I can find it? |

This looks like not to work here.
The system has an Virtual cpu (HT) to optimize the ram,
could this do something frong to let unreal crash? |

Hyperthreading as *nothing* to do with optimizing RAM.
If you're still having problems, then I don't know. Perhaps Microsoft changed the location of the registry key in 2003, that document was written for XP. |

The server admin say's HT is an Virtual CPU to optimaze the Memory (ram) or something (I don't know on my own what it is).
But he asked some people that has the same machine an same windows version running, but the does not have any problems add all, only the have the HT off |

| Hyperthreading is only for splitting yer processor's resources in half (basically making use of idle CPU time), nothing more |
