Man we ran flash chat and it was just a pain in the rump....But that was couple years back...You think about use Java it get you the same results m8.
Heck you can even set them up into message board pretty simple to do I have done it for few gamer groups. If your not dead set on use Flash.
here couple differnt java setup screen shot beside use flash.

| oh i got it all sorted i just bought a shell and did it myself www.breaktheglass.net i just required a deamon for flash |

well I have VPS so I went add same one as you Deathfox and Used some of your html code off yours  So Thanks On that part!
