I think Janus should be considered as individual networks as much as any two full networks that have completely merged since being listed on SearchIRC.
IMHO every network on a Janus link is individual.. with separate services that are inaccessible remotely across the link, stats, open proxy monitors, gklines have no effect on remote Janus-linked networks, the $network identifier is different, etc.
Also, another reason I regard Janus links as individuals is because of the fact that not all channels are linked. Owners, Admins, and ChanOps have complete control over the networks that may or may not link to that channel.
And the solution to detecting Janus links would be the existence of servers in the /links list that contain .janus
The mIRC-Script code would be
| Code: | RAW *:364 {
; RAW numeric of the /links output
if (.janus isin $2-) {
; network has janus links
}
} |

| As useful as your mIRC script is, networks can simply U:Line *.janus and set hide ulines in their IRCd configurations |

ok so what about requiring all listed networks to provide an o-line for scrawl? Opers can see hidden u-lined servers can't they? |

| Not to mention the fact that Janus can be modified to change the .janus postfix... |
