When new users register have a box popup with big text that says "be patient" and "read the !@#$@#! manual"..

The constant barrage of people asking about network info updates and stuff like that is ridiculous.

Your assuming users will read it. Just like that all read the existing help.

I feel sorry for the users who have been here over 4/5 years who must have posted the same link hundreds of times all because somebody can't be assed reading the instructions, it must be tiresome.

@katsklaw if it pops up when they register they have to read it

Actually, I noticed with most forums that people can't even be arsed to to use the search function or read a post directly below theirs with a similar or even exactly the same heading for the answers they seek.

I have real trouble helping people who can't be bothered to even do a little bit of work for themselves. I also find it funny how some of them believe they DESERVE support for the free services they use and aren't afraid to point out this 'fact'.

No they don't, they just click "agree" or "ok" and not read a single word.

Well then if that's the case, perhaps a spam filter on the forums were if the first post contains "my s3rv3r haz not liseted helpp m33 pl0x" or other annoying posts, they get removed from the gene pool.

Yeah I feel the same way far as helping those who can't do a bit of investigating on their own. I would suggest an FAQ with the more frequent questions, but that would most likely be ignored/not read as well.

Isn't it funny how people seem to feel like they deserve alot of things these days? Sure wasn't like that when I was growing up.

Oh its worse then that, some people feel they more then deserve anything, they feel they have a right to it.

^ I lol'd because it's true.

90% of the time most of the responses probably are "RTFM".

It would be funny if from now on Jobe didn't say anything in response to them, and he just posted his avatar, I bet they would ask what RTFM means
