| Back in the 1990s, and early 2000s, IRC had a wide amount of the old "sword and sorcery" Role Plays. Mainly the Free Form genre, before the popular rise of AD&D. However lately, seems that is in decline. Does anyone know of any IRC Networks, with a healthy amount of these games and..any games in particular? |

| Good question, and one I wish I could answer myself. Perhaps someone out there can answer your question. Seems like it's all about the "MMORPG"s these days, and not true roleplaying. Last place I spent a fair amount of time on for the purpose of roleplaying was an Ultima Online server (that is sadly now defunct). |

| RP games (and associated networks) seem to be on the decline with - as Satan-HHH pointed out - MMORPGs taking the vacant territory opening up; Oddly I haven't noticed any advertisements cropping up relating to RPs, but the law of probability says there has to be at least one out there - it just waits to be found |

To add to what greg27 said, I know that SorceryNet also runs a few true RPG games (pure AD&D-like games with dice bots, DM's, etc) |

I can assure you that this is incorrect. DarkMyst hosts these types of communities and we've been strong. While most networks IRC-wide over the past few years have lost users due to an overall decline in IRC traffic, we've been able to maintain a stable and loyal user base.
That said, there are only a few other networks that are specifically geared towards hosting these types of communities and I can't say the same for them over the past few years.
