|
|
Hi I am the owner of irc.ukfriendly-chat.co.uk and T3CHIRC..net have recently merged with us. There appears to be something odd going on with our listings with friendly-chats rating being in the 200's and t3chircs listing being between 300 and 400. I'm hoping that there is something that can be done about this or that there is an explanation
Thanks
JoJo

It normaly takes a few days to settle, they aint been linked long so id give it a few more days and see if everything goes pritty even, sometimes the ranks are like 1 or 2 up or down diff between nets. I own UKMadZone and ChatShit is linked to me, think im like 2 ranks higher.

When networks merge - there's two ways the stats can be settled:- The merging net pre-emptively bans scrawl prior to the merge, then they update their info to say they have merged with another net
- A staff member is alerted to it (such as now), and it is up to the staff to decide which network of the two is the more dominant (using server names and network names as the deciding factor) thus manually deactivating the network with the reason "Merged with <network>"
I have thus deactivated T3CHIRC with reason "Merged with UKFriendly-Chat.co.uk" |

| If two networks merge, the crawler will see duplicate servers and start disconnecting when it sees a conflict. If the bot is disconnecting due to conflict, you'll find the stats won't be updated properly. The discrepancy is likely due to the bot last connecting at night for one network, and the other one actively being updated. |
