BANG!, i gave u many many chances, dont give me that crap that i link and stay for a week. i'm sorry if i got tired of not only supplying your BANG! network with most of its servers but i am tired of there being like 10 users on the network and half are ircops and the other half are bots. see these ircd shells and VPS's cost money. if i am going to pay for it i want to be a part of a network that A) has users B) is a stable network that has a good chance of getting bigger. i stuck it out on irc.xalaris.net for a lot longer than i should of. for all of u responding to my entry i dont need u telling me what my chances are of linking to a network are. if i was that concerned about linking i would not have any stipulations to my linking policy. i posted this info to maybe try and help a network who is going to get bigger but needs another ircd server or two. if u dont want me to link to your network or whatever then dont post a reply here.

If your so good why don't you start your own and build it up from nothing? You don't think you have to because your paying for it? There is your problem - you may own the VPS or shell, but you DON'T own the users. If you have a problem then fix it yourself and don't go complaining about it or delinking without warning. Nothing stopped you from bringing more users or finding other links - you chose not to. You also chose who you linked to and you could have spent the time to find out who they really are before linking. Those were all your decisions and it had the consequences that nobody trusts you as a link - that was of your own doing.

Here's a free tip: If you have to bare anything you don't like, then the link is probably not for you. If it keeps happening, then I'm sorry to say, you're probably the problem, not them...

I have to agree 100% with Trixar, While you where at Xalaris I did EVERYTHING i could to make sure that things where kosher. YOU are the person that failed to come to staff meetings and what not. It is not the fact that you left that bothers me, its HOW YOU LEFT. I go to bed one night thinking everything was fine, then i get up the next morning and BAM you are gone, and delinked your servers.

NOW...

If you had came to me and said that you wanted to delink & go somewhere else because you felt like things were not taking off and building, then I would have been fine & okay with it, but YOU are the PROBLEM, not me.

On the subject of punx. He's a great guy. Do not get me wrong. He is helpful and knows a decent amount about the IRC business, But as webcoder said. He delinks without warning, isn't quite up to anything your server has to offer: "Staff meetings and such" and isn't reliable at all.

Its a %50 %50 deal here, take it as you will, but I'm sorry to say, If multiple people have problems, You're probably the problem, not them.

IG out.

There is no person on this planet that is absolutely friends with everyone else. Everyone is a "jackass" to at least 1 other person. This is caused by conflicts in believes and core values. If you don't like someone, that's your right. However, sharing that opinion, and that's exactly what it is .. your opinion of someone else will most often reflect on you negatively just as much if not more than the person you are "bashing".

Most companies will not disclose negative information about their employees even when fired, this is because just because they didn't work out at their company, there is no reason to assume they won't work out at all companies. It's often best to let the other companies/networks to create their own opinion of the person instead of trying to get others to share your opinion.

This approach will also stop you from looking like an instigator.

Indeed.

Speaking as a staff member (Moderator) here who only wishes to keep the peace, it's quite often the instigators who'll see the admin's foot before the bashed. If someone has been annoying you or pestering you or whatever, don't drop your principles and morals - just don't let them get to you.

I have actually seen punx advertise here since December and he does link, provide a good link and service, is a great admin, but seems he delinks without warning or any real reason. I think this makes most people wary of him.

Also punx - you DO, I repeat, DO need to bring users or something of worth to a link (even if it's just services). This (a) makes you committed to the link and (b) makes it hard for you to remove yourself without good reason (and without pissing off a few admin and users in the process).

I Completely Agree, Lol.. I mean he was with my network for some time and i did waste my time configuring his server. He delinked without any reason and dispeared as usual. Considering his behavior i would like to infom admins here to take a cautious approach with Punx, the guy is simply untrustable.. No hard feeling Punx but you aint that good Smile

Ok, we did kind of railroad poor punx with this.

From what I heard punx is a pretty decent guy, so maybe he's made a few bad judgement calls. Who here hasn't had a few bad ones on IRC, hey? I know I have and I'm still paying for it. Hopefully punx and everyone else learned when it's not a good idea to just up and leave on IRC - it just gives you a bad rep that you have to end up living with even if you've only done it once or twice for very valid reasons, but just forgot to let the users know about your intentions.

Anyway, maybe punx will fit in well with your network where he didn't with others, so don't pass up a offer just because he made a few mistakes in his past.

Not going to happen.

However this kind of reaction doesn't help the opinion of potential admin who want to use your service nor the users that also use this forums. All you're doing now is shooting yourself in the foot because everybody admited that they may be wrong about you.

Next time actually read the last few posts, it may actually be that your winning. To quote Judge Judy: "Haven't you ever heard of the expression, 'Quit while your ahead', sir? You're busy winning, so shut up about it already!"
