Hi everybody,

There is a bug in the version on jpilot installed on searchirc, when your want to connect to an undernet channel, you can talk on this channel, there is this error message:

*** Not on any channel yet, please type "/join #your_channel" first

this probleme appeared when the undernet servers upgrade their version:

-- Your host is Amsterdam.NL.EU.undernet.org, running version u2.10.11.06.(pre3)

Apparently the undernet IRC servers have changed the JOIN command behaviour.

example>>>:

This is from lidingo
:billgate!~billy@seattle.msn.com JOIN #channel

There seems to be a missing ":" seperator before the parameter #wulala

The old and correct way or other IRC servers response like this:
:billgate!~billy@seattle.msn.com JOIN : #channel

The new format will cause the Jirc applet (and also Dancer SE) fail to recognize the channel name as it expect the channel is in the parameter; some of the new undernet servers put that in command part of the message.

The new version of the Jirc applet patch the bug:
http://www.jpilot.com/products/jirc/preview/

do some searchirc admins can upgrade the version of jpilot for correct the bug??Smile

Thx very much

chemant (sorry for my poor english)

Hello chemant - thanks for the info. I've upgraded the java client to the latest version, and verified being able to join channels on Undernet now :)
