Hey guys
I really appreciate all the help. I was able to get it to compile and link to the network. The only problem now is that when you message him, for example /msg GameServ help - he dies. |

Try the fix I created for this bug here
Just copy the two files in the archive into your gameserv folder and recompile, it removes this bug completely
This is actually a bug with the current gameserv and even happens on unrealircd - coding error more than anything.
Btw, do you mind posting a link to the current working archive you have, so I can make a complete working build for it that everybody can use |

Trixar,
I've used the two files you made available (do_help and messages) in conjunction with the hacks made by Adam (on tcpclient) and can confirm it now links correctly to Hollyw00ds network and responds to help. - No further testing has occurred as he's AFK.
I've made the hacked up attempt available at http://www.anope.org/chaz/gameserv-1.3.5_p10_fixed.tar.gz but I would suspect as per previous advice that the fixes used will break it working on anything not p10 (if this even works on p10!).
Will wait to hear more from Hollyw00d. |

Hey guys,
Everything appears to be working well. I really do appreciate all the help and support.
Would anyone be willing to build the project and make it a working service? |

From a quick look at the code (Adam's fix is actually pretty solid - a nice quick and working hack there) and some quick testing, I would say it should work on P10 (well nef's version of P10 anyway) and Unrealircd Networks. Maybe I should rather say it will boot on both - lol. We'll have to see about other IRCd's supported by it.
As for dev wise it works well enough as is, but anybody that wants to can update it if they want to, it has a pretty big TODO list and could do with support say for inspircd. Personally, I'll play with it more than code on it seriously, but who knows, maybe we'll revive the project yet.
Anyway, thanks for the challenge HollyW00d, it was fun |
