| The only thing I can probably suggest is to see if you can get set up an email forwarder (if they allow it) on the site your IRCd is hosted on to your main email. Other than that, someone here may have a better suggestion. |

Hi,
I'm sure im not the only person who ran into this issue. so now what we have to find out is how did they handle this issue in the past and see if we can make it work it out now.
Thanks,
Matt F. |

| ask your ircd host to set up a mail alias for you, or host your dns elsewhere so you can set up your own mail accounts. |

There are simply too many networks for us to manually validate that the network in question is the one who wants to be added, and that someone "official" from the network has approved it.
The email matching the irc server means someone from the network put in the request. |

Would it not be a nice idea, as an alternative method of verification, using a method similar to the method used to gain access to edit a networks description?
For example (for those who don't know):
1) enter the details in a form
2) get told a randomly generated nick that you MUST use on the network
3) get told you must also /oper while using that nick
4) wait a few minutes for an automated bot to connect and /whois you to check to see if you are an oper. |

That would be nice and much faster, but then again you'd probably get meta-networks and others abusing this services.
Maybe add automated checks to help, like checking the network name, the address (to check to see if it's easy to get the domain or if it requires some form of registration) and if the address has been known to be used by other networks listed. Maybe even the rank of the submitting IRCop. |

My suggestion was only instead of the email verification, the manual approval would still exist to prevent abuse. |

True, it would be a very useful alternitive to e-mails them - for one, if the user doesn't verify correctly, it will be automatically rejected, instead of clog up the waiting list. |

I'm am the offical owner of the site but my shell is using a hosting company which I pay a monthly fee for it. I would be more then happy to sumbit a copy of the bill of services that state that im am the netowrk owner and as poof. I just would like to add my site to this great domain.
Thanks,

The system in place for admin validation came years after we had the email validation for network additions.
While it's true that we could use it for adding networks too, there are no plans at this time to make changes to the system due to time constraints. There's backlog of emails and currently pending requests to process. |

So dose that mean then I will be unable to have my network add to your site? or were u post back on the other users comment about other way of doing it?
Thanks,

| Matt, as I said in a previous post, ask your IRCd host to set up a mail account for you, or host your DNS elsewhere so you can set one up yourself. Using an "IRCd hosting site" is no reason to not have email accounts - your hosting provider can easily set them up for you. If they refuse to, I suggest taking your business elsewhere. |
