- Fixed a bug with ircimages that would sometimes cache the first page of graphics incorrectly - saving the "disclaimer" page instead of the actual contents of page 1.
- Created even finer process control for the indexers. Most of them will no longer run if the load avg is high. This allows the system to check itself and make sure it doesn't get carried away during peak times.
- Cleaned up the indexer launch program, cutting the checks and programs called by half.
- Staggered the start time of the different indexer types, so that they don't start launching around the same times.
The above changes should reflect in a smoother running site that doesn't get bogged down by the indexers.
- Around March 18th we will begin the transition of SearchIRC from this dual xeon to a faster machine and a different operating system. Users should not notice any downtime during the transfer. |
