Asking for an oline is unethical and is frowned a upon in my books. I am sorry if I offend anyone by saying that. But the demand for an oline as it was said thousands of times already not kosher even if it is an host! IF thee host doesn't like something that is going on they don't need an oline they can easily filter the connections, etc.
I am sssorry if I brung up an old topic, but this is isn't good. |

Well, at least you brought up an old post to make an actual decent post of your voice/opinion. Most people just type a one line response that dosen't fit when they bring up old posts, usually to up their post counts to post a network or something.
I'd have to agree, I think twice as far as who will or won't be staff if someone sits and asks or begs for an oline. Most people just seem to want an oline for the power and/or to abuse it by killing people, usually defenseless people who aren't opers themselves and can do nothing about it. I've seen this a couple times on places, and frown on it. |

| One thing to bear in mind is that in a lot of cases the best people for oper possitions dont actually ask for them nor seek them in any way. So in my pinion oper possitions shouldnt be asked for but should be offered to suitable users instead. That way users who are bad for oper possitions tend to do their best to make themselves obvious and show out more then those who are better for suck possitions. |

I have to agree, which is why I would never add an individual posting a "for hire" ad on these forums. If you really want to help, join the network and get involved. You do not need an O:line for that, and eventually, just maybe, you might be recognisied and rewarded for your efforts.
Some of the best opers you'll find are those you wouldn't immediately consider for the position, and have been participating on your network for quite sometime.
(usage of the word "you" is not necessairly directed at the poster) |
