One person or not, unauthorized access to another person's mail/registrar account is illegal and only highlights the hypocrisy in the original post. |

I'm aware that it was illegal in a lot of ways, and I even admitted my crime to the guardians of the individual and they didn't mind it, they were glad to know what he was really up to.
My point is that I'm a huge fan of vigilantism and I am basically being a champion of it right now.
Now, let's not keep this going, I wanted this thread to be what other people would have done, not what I shouldn't have done. |

The law in Australia is just as bad as the law in the US.
If someone breaks into my house, and I break his nose for his efforts -- I can be charged.
...How does this work? |

lol, military law in NZ is quite strict.
If someone were to come up to me and take a swing at me, provoked or otherwise. I can be charged as well as the attacker - wether I defended myself or not... go figure |

Yeah, there's a guy named Rupert, Llama, and his other friends that I know are script kiddies and I'm going to report them to the FBI. It's going along great, I got lots of their information that I need such as their address, phone number, ISP (duh), and last name.
No script kiddy should be left on the net. |

Good Luck Man
Its rare to see the FBI take action unless this '' script kiddie'' did a lot of damage not just cuz they are script kiddies...
| Quote: | Script Kiddies are often able to exploit vulnerable systems and strike with great success. The most famous examples include…
A 15 year old Script Kiddie called Mafiaboy was arrested in an upper class neighborhood in Montreal in 2000. Using downloaded DOS attacks, he struck famous websites such as Yahoo!, Dell, Inc., eBay, and CNN, causing roughly 1.7 billion dollars worth of damage. He pled guilty to 55 criminal charges and served 8 months in a youth detention center.
In 1999, NetBus was used to discredit a law student named Magnus Eriksson studying at the University of Lund. Child pornography was uploaded onto his computer from an unidentified location. He was later acquitted of charges in 2004 when it was discovered that NetBus had been used to control his computer.
Jeffrey Lee Parson was an 18 year old high school student from Minnesota responsible for using the B Variant of the famous Blaster Worm. The program was part of a DOS attack against computers using the Microsoft operating system. The attack took the form of a SYN flood which caused only minimal damage. He was sentenced to 18 months in prison in 2005. |
If he did that the fbi may consider it

| I do not consider myself as a script kiddie and I can assure you Llama is not one. I would appreciate if you stopped constantly harassing me through PM with these accusations. From the idiocy displayed in your messages to me, I would consider you to be more of the type that is a script kiddie. |

| It doesn't really matter that he "invaded" the boy's privacy. If he was never bothering people in the first place, it wouldn't of happened. |

Vigilantism leads to things like the Salem Witch Trials and KKK burnings. It is dangerous if taken too far. Luckily, a good outcome happened here, but what if something bad had happened? That is why we have laws and authorities.
And in America, if you kill somebody who broke into your home, you get off and possibly even commended on the nightly news. If somebody takes a swing at you, and somebody sees it and then you try to defend yourself, that witness can attest to the fact that you were attacked first, and then you'll get off.
The law is quite fair (in the US), especially with juries who are more often than not humans just like you or me. In this case, if the thread starter was brought into court in the US, and he requested a trial by his peers (as his right), then I'm sure he will get off because the jury will understand his actions. Juries did this in the 60s with government whistle blowers (see the example of the guy who released the Pentagon Papers and others) |
