From our FAQ:

How do I remove my network from SearchIRC?

If you are the administrator of a network listed on SearchIRC, and you do not want our indexer to visit your network any longer, all you need to do is ban *@data.searchirc.org

We do not respond to requests, visits, or emails demanding we stop the indexer. We're not uncooperative, its simply that it is extremely rare for a network to ask to be removed, while on the other hand we have had several situations where individuals have sought revenge against a network by pretending to be an angry administrator demanding just that. When the indexer is banned there is no doubt the administration itself does not want the network indexed.

SearchIRC is not just a network and channel search engine. We are also a historical record of all networks, past and present. We provide a place where users can review and post comments, add to the historical record of that network, look for long lost friends and channels that once were on that net, and so forth. For an example, see: http://searchirc.com/network/mirc-x.

With several million page views every month, the network section is also a very popular tool for users shopping for a network for their channels, and for servers and other networks looking to link. Posting the reason why we are not indexing a network not only insures we will not mistakenly start indexing that network again should a fake application be submitted, it will also tell visitors whether the network has closed, or if it is the network's choice not to show data or have their channels promoted on SearchIRC.
