annoyed user who tries in vain the connect

hi,

yesterday we had a bit of trouble with a user(mekong) who got rude then hurled abuse at our opers :/
we warned him several times. then a shun, kill, then a gline. now this is where the fun got started.

we didnt havbe a proxy scanner on the network at the time, so he connected via proxy's. opers glined the new ips. kept coming back with new ips.

right now he change his nick, but we've forbidden the nick he uses now.

but lately when he's been connecting, he aint using known proxy addresses and keeps bypassing our scanner.

what can we do to stop this fully? there's nearly 20 pages of stuff in my status window :/

Hi,

A few things to try

1) Unforbid his nick, if hes stupid he'll use it and make himself known.
2) Check for his user@host to see if the user is static and can be banned.
3) CTCP VERSION him to see if his version reply is static and can be banned.
4) What proxy blacklists are you using?

Please state IRCd + Services Daemon versions.

unreal latest and anope 1.7 with neostats latest (with opsb)

1. we already know who he is (mekong)
2. yep it's computerdu@ then some random isp. can be .com can be .nl can be .de .
3. he's blocking ctcp versions. (maybe we need something that glines from the network if you dont accept ctcp version)
4. we're using opsb for proxy checking so i dont think we need a proxy blacklist. maybe we need bopm soon.

oh wow, he's gone now.

just os akilled him and said i named and shamed him on searchirc Wink

he suddenly stopped connecting after that. wonder why
