|
|
Ok, hello im a new user here and i have some problems connecting to channels. Iread the help section and a couple of posts on the forum but didnt find my answer, I verified my java and its perfect.
First, I searched for the channel i was looking for and clicked to get connected, it opens and says :connecting to us.irchighway.net 6667.......and it wont go any further, i waited long enough to believe it might not be normal! I also tried with another channel in case it was a channel problem and i also tried at another time of the day but didnt work either.
So here i dont know what to do or if i did something i shouldnt have done, like i said im new here and maybe i just didnt get it!
Anyway thanks a lot for reading and hopefully you can help! |

| Try using just their roundrobin, irc.irchighway.net IRCHighway had reset everything to where you can connect with just that due to multiple ddos attacks they'd sustained lately. That should get you on there. |

| A round robin is a URL that points to multiple IP addresses, when it is accessed, one of the ip addresses is picked out and used. |

| Just to clarify, us.irchighway.net 6667 is not a channel, but a server name. |

just use it like you would a regular server name
Example:
/server irc.irchighway.net
or if u specify a port
/server irc.highway.net:6667 |

To join a channel with a password type /join #channel password (If you don't know the password you can't join obviously..)
To join an invite only channel you need to be invited by one of the ops in the channel. If you don't know anyone in the channel you're obviously not meant to be there. |
