You can not get a directory ?

Hi can someone pleaseeeeee help me!!! I am new to irc and i have finally figure out how to join channel but now i am stuck after i found the files i want to download. Message: You can not get a directory Use cd to change to that directory
what does this mean? :cry:

It means: use cd to change to that directory

Here pretty soon you'll get the standard reply from the admins that they don't offer that type of assistance on this site but i thought i'd just throw that in there :twisted:

Joyce, like most IRC help sites, SearchIRC does not support or give advice on how to transfer pirated files.

Assuming you want to access a directory of legitimate files, I can tell you "cd" is a unix or dos command to change directory. But please don't assume anything. The owner of the bot could make a command !CD which means complete destruction. :) To be sure, you really need to consult with whoever runs the bot, or the instructions of whoever wrote it. This is not a problem if the file is legitimate. You'll find plenty of people willing to help you. If you are trying to access pirated files, you're pretty much on your own.

TheEvil KNOWS. I would sooner teach a three year old how to defuse bombs than lead a newbie on to IRC and say its okay for them to download files.

Well rock on, downloading ilegal files is very bad, SearchIRC will always assume the best of people which is a very mature thing to do. I do find as most do though that neewbies are annoying but without newbies, there would be no IRC we were all new once so i "try" to be nice, now i will stop babbling on and do something contractive. Remember illegal files is bad... www.loads-of-warez-and-illegal-shit.net haha, only joking.
