| Mine has one, but its mostly for the staff, though there are some public sections also. I use it for most staff discussion and communication. |

| We have a server forum, and all our global channels have got their own forums as well. It's great fun. |

| having a forum on your website defeats the purpose of using live chat, does it not? Most forum users tend to post repeatedly, every few minutes, as if they were chatting... Forums take chat AND users away from the IRC network, imo. |

tiko, that thought has crossed my mind in the past - it seems redundant, doesn't it? On the other hand, forums are not identical to IRC - it's not in real time, thus it has its uses.
If you think about it, IRC, WWW, POP3, etc are just simple sockets sending text, each with it's own numeric system for clients to understand. It's quite amazing that they have such distinct uses. |

We also have a forum which we not long set up for our server http://forum.superbands.net we use it to post server information and have also decided to give our bands a forum section within it, i feel it is useful and a handy medium for passing on information to all our chatters and somewhere which they can also have a little fun...........i recommend anyone with a server to add a forum to thier site fully

GUYS. The question was NOT "whats the link oooh" if it was, they could have PMd you. I wish people would stop using this EXCLUSIVLY to say "look at me look at me!" I more come to forums for discussion rather than advertising. Rant over.
Oh, in addition, since most of the people I've seen posting on sirc are ADMINS rather than users, it's not like it'll get you far anyhow. |
