| Why do you run UnrealIRCD? |
| It's easy enough to setup that I don't have to know how to properly Admin a system to do it. |

Do keep in mind though, there are always those like myself who have tried Linux (several flavors), BSD (also severl flavors), BeOS, and probably a bunch of other OSes most people have never heard of, but still decided that Windows is preferable. Just because you do try other things that are out there does not necessarily mean you will find them better. You might, but it isn't a requirement. |
well said codemastr, i'll second that. I too have tried several types of OS's and found that each are good at somethings and weak in other areas. As always, it's simply personal preference.
Personally I use Windows 2000 for playing games, FreeBSD for servers and Fedora for desktop applications.
I suppose it should go without saying but the same goes for everything, cars, boats, IRCds, Services ... etc ... |

True, true. My line of thought is that every OS is suited to it's own area.
Linux seems more suited to a hobbyist environment, or learning the ropes.
*BSD seems to be more suited to server/hosting environments
Windows seems to be better on the desktop.
I myself use Windows on the desktop also, but have used other operating systems in the past (Many of them... ) |
