most networks wont link with any windows based ircds
and if u would like to join up a awsome network with friendly staff your welcome to create a channel on our network as long as its not for abusive reasons.
ifs u want further info EMAIL: ifs.irc@gmail.com
reason people wont come to your server is u have to have somethin they want or can get from there.. i hope this helped u ... |

You sound like you have a *lot* to learn before you can run a successful server. mIRC is a client, it is not a server. IRC and mIRC are vastly different things. mIRC is one of many clients that connects you to an IRC server, in the same way that Internet Explorer connects you to an HTTP server. You would not say "I'm running an Internet Explorer server", so you would not say "I'm running an mIRC server." You run an IRC server.
As for getting users, that's unlikely. My guess is you're running this off your DSL/cable connection on your home machine (maybe it's not even up 24/7). No one wants to connect to a server like that. It's slow and presumably unstable (especially if you're using Wircd 2k). So it's unlikely that it will ever grow. If you want users on your server, I'd suggest getting a shell account first. But before that, you should learn a lot more about running a server. |
